Previous Editions of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (Dietary Guidelines) is the cornerstone of Federal nutrition policy and education activities. Since 1980, the Dietary Guidelines has been jointly updated and issued every five years by the Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS). The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans is the current guidance; for information on the previous seven editions, click the links below.
