Public Comments to the Departments
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have opened a public comment period to collect public feedback on the Scientific Report of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (Scientific Report). This 60-day public comment period opened December 11, 2024, and closes on February 10, 2025.
Additionally, the public was invited to present oral comments to the departments at a virtual meeting that was held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.

How to Submit Public Comments
- The 60-day public comment period opened on December 11, 2024. The public is encouraged to submit written comments to HHS and USDA related to the Scientific Report of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee to inform the development of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025-2030. To submit an electronic comment, go to our page on Regulations.gov and click on the blue "Comment" box on the top left side of the page to submit a comment. If you have trouble accessing the link, you can also search Regulations.gov with HHS-OASH-2024-0017, the Docket number for this Federal Register notice.

Oral Comment Meeting
A public meeting was held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, for HHS and USDA to hear oral comments from the public on the Committee’s Scientific Report. The webcast recording and the final list of oral commenters will be posted within two weeks after the meeting.
The public was invited to provide oral comments to the departments, and registration was confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity was reached. The departments appreciate the strong public engagement in the process. We encourage those who are interested in providing a comment to do so by following the instructions above, under "How to Submit Public Comments."
