Attend Meeting 4 of the Advisory Committee

The 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will hold its fourth meeting January 23-24, 2020, in Houston, Texas. The meeting will include presentations by each subcommittee, deliberation by the full Committee, and an opportunity for the public to provide oral comments to the Committee.

This is the fourth time the Committee will meet to examine the science related to the topics and questions under review by the Committee. All Committee meetings are open to the public for anyone to attend. This meeting includes an opportunity for individuals to provide in-person oral comments to the Committee.

Register to Attend Meeting 4

USDA and HHS encourage individuals to register to attend the meeting either in-person or by webcast. Online registration for in-person attendance will close at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Individuals planning to attend in-person may also register onsite. In-person seating is provided on a first come basis. 

Webcast registration will remain open throughout the public meeting. Additional information on how to attend the meeting and/or view the webcast will be provided after you register.

Description:
Both meeting days will include deliberation of the full Committee after presentations by each subcommittee. Presentations will outline the approaches and progress made on scientific reviews covering six topic area subcommittees: Birth to 24 Months; Pregnancy and Lactation; Dietary Fats and Seafood; Beverages and Added Sugars; Dietary Patterns; and Frequency of Eating; and the cross-cutting working group: Data Analysis and Food Pattern Modeling. Throughout the meeting, the Committee will review its work since the last public meeting and plan for future Committee work. The afternoon of the second day will include oral comments from the public. This meeting will be videotaped and posted on the meeting 4 page about a month after the meeting occurs.

Provide Oral Comment

Thank you for your interest in providing oral comments at the fourth meeting of the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. We have reached our capacity for oral comments and had to close registration. There is an ongoing open public comment period for written comments that started in March of 2019 and will last until the Committee completes its work in 2020. We encourage all who are interested in the Committee’s work to provide written comments to the Committee and sign up to receive updates.
