2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee: Meeting 3 – October 24-25, 2019

On October 24-25, 2019, the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will hold its third meeting. The meeting will be available to attend in-person, in Washington, DC, and by webcast. The meeting will include presentations by each subcommittee, deliberation by the full Committee, and planning for future Committee work.

Meeting Description

The first day will include a presentation on the Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review (NESR) process the Committee will use to review the evidence for scientific questions that will be answered using systematic reviews. Both meeting days will include presentations outlining progress and approaches for the scientific reviews from the six topic area subcommittees: Dietary Patterns; Pregnancy and Lactation; Birth to 24 Months; Beverages and Added Sugars; Dietary Fats and Seafood; and Frequency of Eating; and the cross-cutting working group: Data Analysis and Food Pattern Modeling. Throughout the meeting, the Committee will review the work since the last public meeting and plan for future Committee work.

Continuing Professional Education Credits

Meeting 3 of the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee has been submitted for pre-approval with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. If approved, Registered Dietitians (RD) and Dietetic Technicians (DTR) can obtain 1 Continuing Professional Education credit for each hour of viewing the live event.
