A total of 82 speakers provided oral comments to the Committee during the meeting.
- Public Meetings: The Committee held seven public meetings. More than 1,000 people attended each meeting virtually, with representation from all 50 states and from more than 25 countries.
- Professional Education: Registered nutrition professionals had the opportunity to earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits for watching the live or recorded Committee meetings. Interest in continuing education was high, with about half of meeting registrants expressing interest in this opportunity. Professionals expressed their appreciation for the CPE credits and more than 3,250 CPEs were approved across the seven meetings.
- Registered Dietitians (RD), Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN), Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR), and Nutrition and Dietetics Technicians, Registered (NDTR) may obtain CPE credits by watching the recordings for Meeting 5, Meeting 6, and the Scientific Report Meeting. Committee meetings prior to April 1, 2024, are no longer eligible for CPEs since they were approved under the Accredited Provider Program and expired.
Another opportunity for public engagement was provided during the process to appoint the Advisory Committee.
