Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee: Meeting 1

On March 28-29, 2019, the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee held its first meeting at the USDA South Building in Washington, DC.

The meeting included:

  • A review of operations for the Committee members;
  • Overview of the topics and questions identified by the Department to be examined by the Committee;
  • Presentations on the evidence-based approaches for reviewing the scientific evidence, including USDA’s Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review process, data analyses, and food pattern modeling analyses; and
  • Plans for future Committee work.
